About this deal

Rounds always end with laughter when there are players who were way too ambitious and greedy trying to drag massive sacks of treasure back, only to have to drop them and scurry back with nothing.

It’s difficult to balance because you are trying to get further into the depths to get the more valuable treasure, but the further from the submarine the harder it will be to get back. Everyone may want to take their time, dive down deep, and get a big prize, but as soon as someone takes anything, the race is on. Each game in the set has a distinctive play and theme, and are generally regarded as high quality, both in production and in design. Turn Back; When you turn back is perhaps the most important moment in the game – grab the first treasure as you turn back, and then start to rush towards the submarine. The push your luck element is fun and many players, in the first of the three rounds, have not made it back to the sub (with treasure, due to lack of air). Shuffle the ones, the twos, the threes, and the fours (keeping them separated by number of pips) and then add them to the bottom of the sub, making a path from one-pip tiles to four-pip tiles at the end. The interesting thing about it is that it plays fairly similarly with large numbers of people because you can move further with more players (since there are more people you can skip over) even though the air runs out faster, as you need fewer turns to go deep into the depths. Drop it; Don’t be afraid to drop an item in an empty space if you are struggling to get back – it’s better to make it back with something rather than nothing. Green panics and drops their treasure, to ensure they're not using up any oxygen and so that they can travel faster than the rest of us.

It comes in a wonderfully small box, with custom diver meeples and wonderful cardboard chits, as well as a cardboard submarine oxygen counter. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. Note that when you would move through a space occupied by another player, it doesn’t count as a space. If everyone worked together, there would definitely be enough oxygen to get to the end - provided nobody picks anything up along the way. I'm looking to add a push-your-luck that has dice to my collection, since I have too few dice in my games and no game that involves these mechanic. The game is played over 3 rounds which is great for new players who will almost always finish with no points in the first round.

Anyone left outside when the air expires drops all their treasure and rushes back to the sub empty handed, ready for a new round.I’m especially fond of the theme, as there are (to be fair, an increasing number) not many submarine-themed games that I can think of, offhand, and unique themes always have a nice place in my game library.

To get the nautical theme (partially) we even took this on our first cruise last year and attracted some passersby. As my little game report has hopefully conveyed, there is a real sense of peril as you play Deep Sea Adventure. Now, remove all the blank tokens from the path and compress it so it’s contiguous, and then start a new round.Deep Sea Adventure’s box is jam packed with cardboard and wooden bits that you’ll set up in a semi-freeform manner (no “board” in this board game). I'm looking for something that can encapsulate the gambling aspects and the dice rolling as a filler mostly. The push your luck factor of the game probably errs a little far to the luck side for some player’s tastes.
