For those wondering if this is a substitute for the original La Nuit De L'Homme, I'm sorry to say it's nowhere near smelling like it. To this day, this remains one of the sexiest most seductive smells ever, all because of that silky smooth cardamom. The base is the original La Nuit, and you can read my review on that page to get a fragrance description on that. I keep waiting for the boozy, spicy notes to wear off into something sweeter but it hasn't happened. The olfactory pleasure continues into the dry down with a nice fresh vetiver accord that is not overly "rooty" or earthy.

If the "La Nuit" line were Batman actors, this would be Michael Bale, the raspy-voiced, anally-birthed love child of Michael Keaton and Christian Bale. Which makes this fragrance heavy, when imo the incredible beauty of this one was the airyness, the brightness of it with the lavender-cardamom-bergamot opening, the very scent that you get when you smell the sprayer. IMO kind of smells like the base for a perfume, it's beautiful, but no character or projection and smells too much like . so my question is , is it worth waiting on this version or is the intense version as good as it gets these days ?The projection is great for the first hour and even less, but it lasts for maybe 2 hours until it eventually becomes more of a skin scent.

The only real criticism I have about it is that it doesn't last a really long time, only about 3 hours. Sultry style similar to l'Instant de Guerlain or The One for men, to the point of being a bit generic in the opening but the drydown might be the most beautiful of the bunch. i cant exactly explain it as a note oriental definitely and dark too but sometimes you don't need to! I've bought bottles of this magical juice throughout the years and I've noticed every time the scent becomes weaker and weaker. This one has a sweetness with a boozy smell that reminds me of an alcoholic and how they always have an alcohol scent to them.

I'm not sure what kind of wizardry went down in the lab when creating La Nuit de l'Homme, but this is a unique, artistic, and breathtaking masterpiece. Please do not spray 30 spritzes on yourself, the beauty of this is it is like a peekaboo fragrance that teases those around you. To quote my favorite streamer Aaron Terence Hughes, perfumes like this should be treated as a scam and nothing else. Wanted by Night is fruitier than you might expect, so might be worth a sample first to see if it's for you. It's the type of fragrance that as soon as someone gets close to you they get drawn in by its gorgeousness. So my final verdict is just to try it out, this is one of the best things I have ever smelt, hands down. It is still treated as fact that YSL is a greedy awful company who is watering down their product over the years to sell more bottles and save money.It has a huge mass-appeal factor that garners compliments and is even better for those close encounters. There are several youtube videos comparing the smell and longevity of LNDL over the course of a decade and the videos all found that they farther back the bottle was made, the darker and stronger it was and the longer it lasted.

To me it is still a really solid fragrance you cant go wrong with and still my most complimented one. This phase of the fragrance is very short-lived, which makes this version come across as less fresh, at least, when compared with the original.The retail pricing for the 100 mL size isn't horrible, considering the quality of the fragrance and the fact that this isn't intended as a versatile daily driver.
