About this deal

I recently wrote my review on the new Gyeon Pure Evo coating which can be found here https://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=429437 For example Cancoat is the most expensive and labor intensive way to coat a car over a set time period of 3 to 5 yrs compared to other using your term, traditional coatings, which for most long lasting durability being one of the primary reasons to coat a car. The fundamental purpose of Primer is to improve the ease with which very soft paint finishes can be prepared for the coating application process. It does this by finishing down extremely well, and by doing away with the need for the subsequent wipe down with Prep. However, it only does the latter if the car is left for ~24 hours after the Primer is applied, which isn't usually an issue if you are working indoors. Ensure your exterior surfaces are clean, dry and free from contamination; so wash thoroughly and dry. Clay your car if required prior and we strongly suggest you wipe over with GYEON Prep to remove all traces of old wax, residue, polish or oils. I had CanCoat last 15 months on a vehicle that was polished with Gyeon Primer Polished and maintained every now and then with Cure. I consider this a triple threat that just performs well.

I have heard of some individuals using CanCoat as a drying aid, with even less durability being the tradeoff. Although I have not personally pushed this product to those limits yet, it is a testament to the versatility of this product. First off prep work. As with any product its best to apply to a washed, deconed, clayed and polished surface. For polish you can use whatever you like. You can use the Gyeon primer but be aware it needs to cure for 12-24h before you apply Cancoat which is a waste of time in my world. If you want to use a primer product then use Carpro essence (3h cure time) or better yet TAC system primer (1h cure), but really any paint cleanser or abrassive polish will do just fine. Gyeon coatings have been completely redesigned and this technology has never used before in car coatings. Evo products utilize a world-first use of the fluoro-modified polisylazane technology that pushes the Evo line to the forefront of car coatings. This technology means extended durability, extreme chemical resistance, longer lasting performance, and only one layer is needed. It remains easy to apply and much easier wipe off than before. Then factor in the hard cost of Gtechniq to Cancoat which some have said required two cans of the aerosol version per car for two coats multiplied by 3 to 5 years vs Gtechniq’s one time expense. No comparison! Gtechniq the better value by far. Of course you can use Bathe+ in place of a topper in the above cycle, however it's not going to give you the look, durability or performance of a dedicated product like Cure. You should apply Gyeon Q² CanCoat in a dry place out of direct sunlight. In all cases, prepare the surfaces you are going to treat in the normal way (wash > decontaminate > polish), and then do a wipe down with Gyeon Q²M Prep to ensure that they are spotlessly clean. For best results, spray Gyeon Q² CanCoat on to either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel and immediately wipe it over a single panel to spread a thin, even film of product. Then refold the towel and continue buffing to fully remove the film and reveal an intense streak-free shine. Alternatively, mist a Meguiar's Even Coat Microfiber Applicator Pad with Gyeon Q² CanCoat and wipe a thin, even film of product over a single panel at a time before buffing off with either the supplied microfibre towel or a PB Super Buffing Towel. Either way, you should aim to complete all of the buffing off within 1-2 minutes, i.e. before the coating begins to harden. If you are pressed for time, but do not want to sacrifice protection, grab yourself a can of the Gyeon CanCoat Evo today! Outdoor Friendly. Meaning it can be applied outside but not in direct sun and avoid wet wet weather for the first 24 hours as it will affect the cure time (ie dew, rain). This will be a big hit for those that don't have access to a garage as it applies to all of the Gyeon coatings. One thing mentioned in the included maintenance book, is to apply Gyeon Cure as a precaution if planning to leave it outside.

Developed over the course of two years by some of the world's leading car care experts, Q2 Cancoat EVO also offers an easier wipe-off process, and improved flexibility for the conditions in which it can be applied. Like the other coatings in the EVO lineup, it can be applied outdoors, making this a great option for driveway detailers and mobile detailers around the world. Q² CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off.One thing that is interesting is that CanCoat does indeed harden but it hardens into a white powdered silica which is cool. It can be seen in the sprayer as well. I know many have had issues with the sprayers fail even after rinsing but for me I am still on the original sprayer. I rinse it with hot water and pump hot water through it. Shake the Gyeon CanCoat well, take a good quality microfibre cloth and spray the Can Coat into the cloth. Wipe over a section (half a panel) gently ensuring you pass over all the area at least twice to provide even coverage. Take a second good-quality microfibre cloth and wipe off completely. Repeat for all other sections on your car until gleaming. I made some fundamental errors during my first attempt at using Can Coat. Since I had associated the product with other coatings, I treated it like a normal coating application. I sprayed the product onto a microfiber applicator and then spread the coating onto a section of the paint using overlapping, cross-hatch motions. I then wiped the residue away and moved on to the next section. This was easy enough, though I did notice some residual product or light streaking from time to time that required additional attention to completely remove. As I continued to work I began to understand that with this product, less is more. Over application provided no benefit. It just took more time, created more work, and made for a more stressful process. When doing a side by side comparison between Cancoat and say Gtechniq CSL w/ exov4 topper over G’s life span of 3 to 5 years, consider the prep. time and materials it would cost for both for one application. The same. Now calculate the cost to prep. 2 to 4 more times using Cancoat over that same time period. It still retains that versatility while making for an excellent choice for a maintenance topper a year down the road on a coating. It works with any coating.

The original Q2 Cancoat was an absurdly easy way to protect paint and trim for up to 6 months (although we were able to get 9 months of protection in our testing). So for the next generation of absurdly easy to apply paint and trim protection, Gyeon Q2 Cancoat EVO offers double the lifespan of the original Cancoat: up to 12 months or 12 thousand kilometers of protection. Cancoat EVO's application process couldn't be easier: just apply it using the included microfiber towel, and wipe away the residue until your paint is looking its best for up to one full year. Great product for what it is and it’s intended use as in a one time less labor less hard cost application.

GYEON - Q² CanCoat EVO (200ml) Reviews

Gyeon's CanCoat EVO offers more durable performance, improved visual enhancement, and hydrophobic properties - all thanks to the updated EVO formula. It remains as easy to apply as it used to, now featuring even easier wipe off. Chemical resistance. Ive tested this a bit and sprayed on undiluted APC (around 12 ph), aggitated and rinsed. It had very little effect on the coating.
