About this deal

Dried fruits, rose and oud make up the scent profile, similar to Oud Royal, which I love. However I find that Oud Royal could use a touch more sweetness, which I find in Lattafa Opulent Oud. The scent smells rich, and I could imagine it costing 10 times as much in a different bottle. The oud accord (at this price, natural oud oil is impossible) is absolutely excellent and leaves Ombre Nomade and Halfeti in the dust. There is a prominent smokey rose, jammy dried fruits and smokey woods in the base. I don't smell large doses of synthwoods that are obvious in its competitors, and I appreciate this delicate touch. Please note that the fragrance notes have been provided by Lattafa Perfumes Industries L.L.C and have not been constructed. Other Fragrances in the Lattaafa Opulent Fragrances / Perfumes Range Sweet OUD & (SANDAL)WOOD-PATCHOULI with amazing drydown. Opens with a floral-citrus burst with patchouli, saffron & oud touches, that deepens into a caramel & amber-oud heart, all resting on a musky amber-wood base with vanilla & patchouli touches. Overall, I get a sweet oud with faint patchouli touches in the opening with a creamy sweet oud heart on a spicy-sweet & creamy (sandal)wood-patchouli base that's to die for. The drydown reminds me of other sandalwood-patchouli drydowns, although sandalwood isn't specifically listed in the notes. Fantastic performance, that might be difficult to wear in the summer heat.

I would say if you like spicy, woody scents then give this a shot, for the price of this you really can’t go wrong, I can see why so many people enjoy it. It’s well blended, smells expensive and definitely gives off a sexual aura but it’s not the sexy perfume for me. Again, I want to smell that rose!😩 As this perfume was meant for my husband, we tried on his skin as well. I think it's not a man's scent.

Ultimately, this is an amazing rose oud scent (on the jammy, woody side) for the money, and I highly recommend it for lovers of niche scents. Lattafa Perfumes Industries L.L.C is Dubai's leading premium luxury perfumery of authentic Arabic fragrances and it makes the world of scent sophistication available for everyone looking to shop for perfumes across the world. My Advice: If you are not familiar with oud scents, do buy them only after trying them; I recommend Lattafa's "Blue Oud" to ALL oriental fragrance lovers due to its singularity of being semi-fresh. If you really like oriental woody fragrances, you don't even need to try it before buying it. I do believe this fragrance will conquer you with its uniqueness. Anyway, upon opening, you are bombarded with the cinnamon bark and saffron. I hated it for the first 10 seconds, it was leaning medicinal on me. The opening is very sharp and off putting. But… give it a chance to calm down and that medicinal smell will fade. Despite there being some differences in the notes, Swiss Arabian's Shaghaf Oud smells really similar to me.

Note: If you think that all Lattafas are trying to dupe another fragrance, in my opinion, this scent is quite unique and does not intend to clone anything. Longevity is good on me, lasts through a workday, i can smell it even after 10 hours on myself after a sweaty and super hot summer day. These are different, but there are similarities with sweet oud. SO doesn't have the sandalwood-patchouli drydown, and is an oud-rose & praline blend along the lines of Oud Bouquet Lancome. Both have amazing performance.

FAQs

It starts to soften and you’re left with Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe Edition ! To my nose. I have been wearing SAS for many years, so I’m well aware of the scent. However, where SAS Is more vanilla, this is more saffron and patchouli.

But to be frankly honest I only apply 2 spritz max, I was trying to build my tolerance to Oud only bec it’s very basic where i live and maybe building my way up? Projection Power: 10 (Fills a street), 9 (fills a room), 8 (can smell from 5 meters), 7 (3 meters), 6 (within arms reach bubble), 5 (20cm from skin)Somehow, this is a FRESH oud fragrance that can be worn year round. Oud is often very underappreciated for it's versatility in the west. In fact, this leans towards a summer/spring time oud fragrance. Maybe it's the patchouli I'm sensing but I haven't quite put my finger on why this comes off as so fresh and airy rather than warm and dense. Oh well, I'm not complaining.

Over all I give this fragrance a ten/ten. It's really lovley, well blended, etc. It's a more wearable middle eastern Fragrance. I love, love, loooove this stuff. To be honest, I feel Sheikh Al Shuyukh Luxe Edition , has changed over the years. I’ve noticed it’s become more cloying vanilla. Something in this, gives it a sort of coziness in the base. The oud in the this is fresh. This oud is not funky, not medicinal or fecal. To me, the saffron, woody notes and ambergris is the most prominent in this fragrance. After the first 10 seconds (where there is a faint aroma of stale wine), this fragrance is incredible value for your money.
